Who we are.

Hey there, Jamie here :)
I'm a Film student studying at the University College Falmouth in Cornwall which is a lovely little place tucked away in the South-west of England. I love the cinema but I'm also passionate about music, art and lots of stuff in between.

My favourite and most respected films include Duncan Jones' Moon, the majority of David Fincher's films, namely Fight Club, Seven and The Social Network, Aronfsky flicks such as Requiem for a Dream and The Fountain and Shane Carruth's low-budget masterpiece Primer. There are many others but my main filmic interest lies in intelligent Sci-Fi movies, and I will probably write alot about these on the blog.

My musical tastes range quite drastically from time to time. I have a few solid favourites such as Radiohead, Sufjan Stevens, Regina Spektor, Say Anything and Bon Iver. I really enjoy lo-fi acoustic records but appreciate most things that are musically interesting or impressive.

Hey Everyone ..
My name's Marcus Logan and I'm 18 years old, currently studying English and New Media at the Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand. My whole life I've been passionate about music and creative writing, currently pursuing a career in journalism. I also love basketball having played seriously most of my life.

Some of my favorite music includes; Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Donovan Frankenreiter, Jack Johnson, The Ramones, The Misfits and many many more. I'm mostly into old school rock, punk and alternative rock but I'm open to and enjoy a wide range of genres.

Looking forward to working with the team at 'The Static Kinetic' !

Howdy.
I'm Robert, aged 27 years, born/raised/suriving Southern Californian with whereabouts in/around Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
Being raised in a family steeped in music, theatre, and literature, art of all kinds is ever-constant in my life, both as a profession and a hobby. I consider myself an instrumentalist rather than a musician, exploring and finding new sounds. I find inpiration, influence and admiration for all things new and experimental, from techniques to approach to creation, recording, and performance.
My listening interests encompass all different styles and sounds of music, both popular/accessible and obscure, from the modern day to the 16th century.
To name some, in no particular order: Miles Davis, Frank Zappa, The Beatles, Sonic Youth, Monks, Radiohead, My Bloody Valentine, David Bowie, Nick Drake, John Cage, The Flaming Lips, Josquin Des Prez, TV On The Radio, Bob Dylan, Can, Spiritualized, Captain Beefheart, Robert Johnson, Igor Stravinsky...
Quite simply, I listen to a lot of music.
I currently write, record, and perform with the Western/Cowboy group, The Tumbling Tumbleweeds. Since our formation in 2005, we have released 2 full-length albums and recieved the 2008 Western Music Association (WMA) Crescendo Award (for "Most Promising Talent") and are nominated for the 2011 WMA Traditional Album of the Year (by a group/duo) and Entertainer of the Year. If you would like to see/hear more, please visit our webpage: www.thetumblingtumbleweeds.com
Along with the cowboys, I create art on HitRECord, working alongside our Chief Editor Chig and others, which can be found here: www.hitrecord.org/users/Robo_J
My main writings here will be of new releases in music (and some "classics" revisited), as well as live performances, and the occasional musings/rants.
Stay tuned...
